Know your bolt pattern and offset. New wheels have to match your car's bolt pattern, center bore and offset. Bring the year, make and model, and ask whether the quote includes mounting, balancing and new TPMS sensors.
Common questions
Can a bent rim be repaired?
Most bent or curb-damaged alloy wheels can be straightened and refinished by a wheel repair shop for less than a new wheel. A cracked wheel is a different matter — many shops will not weld a crack on a wheel meant for road use.
Do wheel shops install tires too?
Most do: wheel and rim shops usually mount, balance and align in-house, and many sell wheels and tires together as a package.
